I am obsessed with sushi. I have dined at virtually every restaurant which serves sushi in the area. This restaurant is without question the best. The sushi is always fresh and appropriately prepared. it is however important when you dine at this restaurant. It is not huge and the staff does seem to run into some issues when there are a lot of people. Simply stated they can't serve everybody fast enough. Combine it with a local populace with a short temper and it can be a less than enjoyable experience during busy times. So try to avoid them. If you come when a lot of people aren't there either before or after the rush the people at the restaurant will go out of their way to make you as happy as possible. It is and exceptional dining experience when appropriately timed and planned

You can enjoy either sushi, hibachi or many other Asian dishes. Very nice atmosphere and food is very good.

My siblings had been to this place before and recommended it, so we went for a family dinner while I was in town. The interior is large, airy and inviting (though sound-reflective, amplifying a large, boisterous party that was in progress when we got there). Would that the staff had been similarly welcoming. The taciturn host and similarly tight-lipped server seemed disappointed that we weren't actually Chinese, though we might look that way to a casual observer. Fortunately the food easily redeemed the evening--a lovely-looking and generously portioned avocado salad was equally pleasing to the palate, while the main courses we ordered--the evening special, lamb with scallions; teriyaki chicken and orange beef--were perfectly cooked and seasoned. At least as we left the chef had a gracious smile for us, in contrast to those who started the evening. Still, the food is great and I'd consider coming back.

Been patronizing this comfortable restaurant for the past few years. Having sampled sushi at several places around CT Yooki Yama offers the best, freshest sushi by far, IMHO. There is usually soft Jazz playing with soft lighting that makes for a relaxing calm atmosphere. The staff is friendly, the owner is head chef. There is a Saki tasting during the week. It does get busy on the weekends which can delay getting the best service but just relax and have another glass of wine - it's well worth the wait!!
