It is the capital of the Sugamuxi Province, named after the original Sugamuxi. Sogamoso is nicknamed "City of the Sun", based on the original Muisca tradition of pilgrimage and adoring their Sun god Sué at the Sun Temple. The city is located at an altitude of 2,569 metres (8,428 ft) on the Altiplano Cundiboyacense in the Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes.

Looking for a place to eat in Sogamoso? Look no longer. This is it. I visited El Bodegon with my family, and we were all left with a really positive impression.They serve incredibly well tasting Italian pizza, made from a range of fresh ingredients. It's the type of pizza that instantly satisfies your taste buds, and that you can't get enough of. But it doesn't stop there. The staff is also incredibly attentive, and looks after you from the moment you arrive, to when you leave. There is also plenty of space, so bring along all of your friends & family! If I could eat here every day, I would! Enjoy.

Entre Sogamoso e Iza hay muchos restaurantes, pero casi todos son de carne. Por fortuna dimos con este restaurante que tiene tambiÃ©n dentro de su carta pizzas y trucha. En los dos casos la preparaciÃ³n se hace en horno de leÃ±a con un buen resultado. Recomiendo en especial la trucha al horno y el cafÃ© que viene con un toque de canela muy rico. El restaurante tiene un ambiente muy agradable con manteles coloridos. Se nota el esmero de las personas a cargo.
