ASK Italian in Lewes is a place for great food and warm service. Think fresh bread made to tear and share. A glass of fine wine worth deserving of your time. Delicious main dishes prepared the traditional way. Everything we know and love about Italian foo
Lewes has very little choice if you fancy Italian food, so 'Ask' is understandably quite popular. For a chain restaurant it's unfortunately very mediocre & relatively expensive. The mushroom starter was probably the highlight of our meal - a lot better than the limp, fairly tasteless calamari. We tried a 'Prima pizza' - the Salami Misti, again, quite disappointing with a sparse amount of topping. The service was efficient & friendly & our bottle of Primitivo wine was very good. So if you want good quality, better value Italian food, it's best not to limit yourself to Lewes.

A quirky free-house pub with a unique history. Serving sourdough base pizzas and a varying range of craft beers, local and from further afield.
We stopped in for a beer around 6pm on a Sunday evening. Great atmosphere, friendly service, good range of beers, nice places to sit outside as well as inside, It's a few minutes walk from the bottom of the High Street, but worth it! Will certainly be going back next time we're in Lewes.

Bright and modern, Pizza Express Lewes offers an exciting reinvention of Italian classics. A vibrant menu includes wholesome Romana-style pizzas with adventurous topping combinations, as well as fresh salads, an impressive range behind the bar and aromati
We found this pizza express to be rather stingy in comparison to others we have visited. The antipasto was much smaller than usual, with only two sweet cherry peppers, rather than the usual four, no olives, a small sliver of mozzarella and a measly shred of prosciutto. Also, when you consider that a regular cappuccino costs only £2.75, a charge of £5.20 for a small cappuccino and a single mouthful of dessert is extortionate. Yes, the dessert is described as 'small', but a single mouthful costing more than £2.45? Really???
Close to the train station, this shop boasts delicious cakes and savory treats made fresh to order. They also offer pasta and other types of food. The New York cheesecake is simply divine. Really authentic and worth visiting frequently. Thank you!
