Stopped at S&S on a whim with some friends on the way back to Jnb from Magailesburg - couldnât have made a better choice.The restaurant is essentially on an open air (with roof) porch looking into their rustic backyard / farm. Just a really chilled out retro vibe, with some light music in the background.Menu is several types of meat/veg pies, risotto balls, burger, salads, various seeds and youghurt items, juice drinks, squash-like soups, etc. all made fresh.Across 6 ppl I think we covered most of the menu and everyone loved what they got. I personally had the pies and potato wedges, which were great.We tried all four desserts, and while all 4 were actually great - I thought the rhubarb custard and the coconut pudding were exceptional. The chocolate cake with compote was good as well.All in, with 6 drinks, 6 mains, and four desserts the bill came to ZAR 1180 (plus tip).Played bocce in the yard and just generally relaxed. Would absolutely recommend a trip out to try. Thank you Zach, it was a blessing to have you all here at S&S. Looking forward to welcoming you back.

We absolutely loved the food at Sweet Thyme Restaurant! Compliments to Chef Raymond Massey and his excellent team!!Breakfast and dinner very tasteful, well actually delicious meals with good portions.We also had a picnic basket to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, and I tell you the variety was so good and the food so plenty, we struggled to finish everything. The way they prepare their meat dishes - wow, so tender and juicy!!We will recommend this restaurant to everyone - special mention to Peter & Nathaniel for excellent and friendly service!!

We went out to De Hoek for Sunday Lunch. From the greeting on arrival to the final goodbye, the experience was excellent. The lunch menu is a choice of three starters, four main courses and two deserts. There is something for everyone including vegetarians. They have some interesting and unusual wines. The setting outside under the trees was beautiful and relaxing. The food was of a very high standard. The service excellent.
