Good service, but that's where it ended. Cullen skink? Hard to get wrong, but this was tasteless and had to pile on the seasoning. The fish was mushy and on the whole a total disappointment. Picked the tablet cheesecake from the specials board and again bland thank goodness it came with a strawberry jus and ice cream.

A friend and I met in Forfar and spent and hour or two shopping before deciding to stop for lunch. Not know the town well, we wondered around for a wee while before noticing the signage out front about food, and went in. It wasn't busy - it was a Wednesday lunchtime. It was clean & fresh in decor, and the waiting staff were pleasant and efficient. We ordered starters and mains. The starters were enormous ... delicious though....we both ordered the cheese wedges. Then we had steak pie and chicken goujons for main course. Again, large portions. The steak pie was excellent. The chicken goujons, whilst cooked and edible, could have done with a few more minutes cooking to crisp them up, but nothing so bad as I would complain. We followed this with coffee as there was no room for desert. Would we go back....YES!!!

Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Simpsonâs yesterday morning. The owner Claire was so friendly and gave us such a lovely personal service. The smoothies were so good- super healthy and fresh; and each of us really enjoyed our food. I had the beetroot hummus with avocado and crumbled goats cheese on sourdough; my husband scrambled eggs with halloumi; and the boys both had the âDundee Stackâ which was black pudding with haggis and bacon or sausage with a perfectly poached egg on top. Best coffee since we arrived in Scotland too. All round a top quality breakfast with fantastic service.
