Saffron Indian Grill offers a taste of Indian street food as well as classic and modern takes on regional cuisine. For lunch enjoy an Indian Thali, round tray with small bowls filled with appetizer, entrees, salad, rice, bread and dessert or a lighter tak
Tewksbury/Andover/Lowell have a lot of high-tech workers (code for Asian/South Asian) so it should be no surprise that there are some pretty good Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the area.Add Saffron to the list.On the advice of my colleague, I went with the Thali (I tend to go heavy on lamb and naan, as anyone who has ever read more than a couple of my restaurant reviews would know), and it was much less filling than when I descend on a buffet. I asked for "Indian hot" and while it was hot, it could have been hotter without obscuring the nice flavors.Wish lamb had been one of the options for the Thali! Thanks for your kind words and feedback. The chef chooses the entree items for the lunch thali daily and includes lamb one or two days a week. We'll try to make it hotter next time.

Pizza & Sub Stop is NOW serving VEGAN Menu. Check out our new additions at our website. It is a quick serve family style restaurant. You can dine-in in an elegant environment or call ahead for take-out or for delivery. The Pizza, dough, sauce and sub brea
The name is deceiving. The storefront is deceiving. The specialty food is great! It looks like a hole in the wall pizza joint, not any different than those that dot the suburban landscape across the country.A sign in the window draws me in. I'm at the Lowell Folk Fest looking for something worthy to eat! I see a sign that advertises a low-glycemmic index crust and my curiosity is peaked. It was hard choosing from the specialty menu. I spoke with the owner and he sells junk to stay in business. Most of the current clientele do not order the spicy vegan or vegetarian foods made with quinoa and other ancient grains. They do not take advantage of the variety of Jain sauces offered or long to try the Khichadi, an Indian comfort food made with quinoa, Sorghum and corn, cooked in butter with spices and nuts! This is a guy who can prepare a vegan meal without special instructions! The crust is not some pre-packaged gluten free deal that other pizza places buy. I hope that by reviewing this place customers interested in healthy fast food can find this spot and keep this guy in business!I ordered a spinach and feta pizza ( and asked of the other pizza cheese blend too!) on the low glycemic index crust- I wish I was there with my veg friends and had an opportunity to order more extensively off the menu! The crust was perfect; tasty and crispy on the bottom- it stayed crispy even after I carried some back to my hubby watching the music. I wish there was more spinach on the pie, but hey, I loves my my cheese and the blend was tasty!Do not go for the atmosphere- that's why a star is missing!. There is none. Go if your crowd is mixed with veg and non-veg and everyone will be happy! Or just go for the veg!!!!! This place needs the support of vegetarians and vegans in the area! The owner would go totally veg if he could keep the doors open! Please try the specialty items and write a review!!!!
