Cheap and cheerful backstreet style tandoori house, even though it's on the high street. Do not let the plain, tired exterior and interior put you off. We were made to feel welcome from the off. All the servers were friendly and helpful. As a family group of five we had a full meal including starters. The pakoras and bhajis were excellent and my chicken tandoori starter was one of the best I've ever eaten. Succulent, spicy and tasty. No dreaded food dye anywhere in the marinade. The main dish curries were all tasty, well spiced and aromatic. I can recommend the chicken pumpkin and lamb vindaloo( cooked to madras heat). Three of us are real Indian food aficionados having eaten curries up and down the country and in Asia for over forty years. This isn't fine dining, just good honest Indian restaurant fare. Not one negative, we all came away satisfied and happy.Thank you.

Once unquestionably a really good Indian restaurant, now a good takeaway that also has tables should someone ask to eat in.Food was good, everything else pretty poor. No staff with a clue how to wait tables, no heating on until we asked, had to beg for drinks, ask to order.Such a shame.
Heard great reedback regarding the new saffron indian in town, so gave it a go, really dissapointed, we ordered a lamb and a chicken dish, both came with 5 pieces of meat in each covered in a thin tasteless sauce, such a shame as was really looking forward to trying it out, could swear blind it tasted the same as the One takeaway i ordered from the now closed india lounge that was equally as bad

Saw the reviews and thought there might actually be a decent Indian in Exeter I was sadly disappointed. In fairness to them the service was excellent and there were some good points to the meal just not enough. The good points were the Onion Bhajee starter and the naan bread which were both very good. Naan was excellent to be fair. Sadly the Jalfrezi was somewhat lacking in texture and flavour a real shame that the main course let it down if it hadn't it would have been 4 or 5 stars. Sadly still looking for a decent Indian in Exeter
