Find out what Indian restaurants to try in Buxton. Buxton is a spa town in Derbyshire, in the East Midlands region of England. It has the highest elevation – about 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level – of any market town in England. Close to the county boundary with Cheshire to the west and Staffordshire to the south, Buxton is described as "the gateway to the Peak District National Park". A municipal borough until 1974, Buxton was then merged with other localities lying primarily to the north, including Glossop, to form the local government district and borough of High Peak within the county of Derbyshire. Despite being in the East Midlands, economically Buxton is within the sphere of influence of Greater Manchester. The population of the town was 22,115 at the 2011 Census.

We ordered from Tikka Villa for New Year and whilst there was nothing bad about any of the dishes there was nothing particularly impressive either - fairly similar flavours across different dishes.

Ordered a mixed kebab roll last week while staying at the Premier Inn around the corner. It was OK, but had far too little salad in it for my taste and the chicken and lamb tikka was chopped up into very small pieces (I prefer big chunks)

Really enjoyed my visit recently, friendly service, lovely relaxed atmosphere and the coffee is exceptionally good! Was such a refreshing change from the high street chains and I will definitely be back. P.S. It was very reasonably priced plus a 10% loyalty card to use on each visit, whatâs not to like?

We placed rather a large order (11 people) online with Buxton Food Spot and were given a waiting time of approximately 1 hour which, given the size of the order, could have been taken with a pinch of salt (pun not intended). The order was for delivery.2 hours and 10 minutes later we decided to call Buxton Food Spot to make sure they had our order and if it was due any time soon. They advised that the driver wasn't there so they must be on their way with our order. Excellent. Given that we were only 0.6 miles apart, we were eagerly anticipating our food within the next 5-10 minutes. 40 minutes later we decided to phone again to enquire about our order. We couldn't get a straight answer out of them. By this time it was far too late to go elsewhere so I decided to drive down and pay them a visit. It turns out that our food was being prepared some 3 hours after ordering, just as I walked in. We were told the driver was knocked over and therefore I imagine so was our food. No phone call to advise us and no evidence of fallen food all over the road. Not many different routes to go in 0.6 miles but I can't confirm whether this did happen or not.To top it all off they missed out one of the items on the order, offered no discount for their below average service and couldn't be bothered to label the 6 different curries we had. The one and only time that we'll use Buxton Food Spot. The onion Bhajis were nice.
