Reviews on Healthy food in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. "For simple beauty, Cape Breton outrivals them all." So said Alexander Graham Bell of the island he adopted as his home. Rich with Celtic, Mi'kmaq and Acadian heritage, Cape Breton is a delight for history buffs, music lovers and explorers of nature. Immerse yourself in 18th-century life at the Fortress of Louisbourg, explore the winding roads and Atlantic vistas of the Cabot Trail, and seek out a local Ceilidh for a lively and rousing experience.

I have to admit that I did not eat here. We were staying nearby at it seemed close and convenient. I opened the door and the foul smell of hot old used deep fryer fat was overwhelming. We went elsewhere. The smell was that terrible. This is a terrible thing to say about a restaurant. We work extremely hard and we clean and change our oil regularly (probably more often than most restaurants). Our establishment is spotlessly clean. Our food is delicious and we are proud of our restaurant. You must be very miserable people to put a rating like this on a restaurant when you didn't even eat here. It will come back to you!

We stayed two nights at this beautiful remote setting. We booked the culinary experience with Earling and her assistant Andy. They really are a two terrific individuals, and our experience was quite an adventure. we were making bread in the morning when an unexpected power outage cut out power to the entire area. So we went to market in town, and then went Chantrella mushrooms on their wooded property. Power came on early in the evening and we resumed our culinary experience by helping out in the kitchen. It was not what we really expected, but it wound up be good food and a nice little challenge for all of us. We would not have traded the experience for anything! The dinner was fun (and good), and breakfast both mornings was excellent. Thank you for your most generous review---in spite of the power outage. Both Andy and I had a great time with you!! Both of you had a great deal of experience in the kitchen and we incorporated your suggestions into our menu.
