This is a family and community place. I have been eating at Gardena Bowl Coffee Shop since we moved to Gardena in 1972. I love this place. They make the best chashu since Tin Sing Restaurant closed. I love their chashu and eggs. My husband loves their Hawaiian Royal. Their egg foo young is like my mother's - more eggs than flour batter. Their fried rice is delicious. My favorite is bacon fried rice. Chashu fried rice is good too. The service is good except for one waitress who forgets a lot. The rest are on top of things. I haven't ventured much because I love their chashu. I have ordered chashu for parties. I'm getting hungry.

The food is so very Hawaiian here and the ambiance when the Hawaiian singers and musicians play makes the experience that much better. The restaraunt was previously a Sizzlers, so the setting is a bit off. Bob's decorates it with lots of cool Hawaiian bits,so not a problem! I pretty much recommend it all. I like the chinese chicken salad too,but thought it a bit overpriced if done as take-out. Otherwise give it a try and you will not be disappointed!

For those of you looking for authentic, hawaii-homestyle meals, Happa's is the place to go. Forget about the so-called "Hawaiian BBQ" joints owned by people who know nothing about Hawaii and probably have never been to Hawaii, less cook true Hawaii cuisine. Happa's features some amazing local hawaii favorites including saimin, meat jun, and the fried porkchops....to die for!! I hear so many people brag about how good the porkchops at side street in on Oahu....Happa's porkchops blow side street in away... I love the ala carte menu which was designed for sharing so if you are "ono" to eat more than one dish, this is a great way to share a few different plates with friends or family.

Good portions, fresh and delicious, exactly what you'd get in Hawaii. Most meals are in the $7-9 range and include protein and starch. Decent value for a meal and authentic if you like this style food. Nice restaurant. If you're expecting Kansas style bbq, that's not Hawaiian.
