We were passing by Sabugueiro and select this restaurant based on tripadvisor comments.The parking place was limited, which seems a rather unfortunate trait of the main road where is located; the restaurant has a good environment and the fireplace in the dead of the winter is very welcomed. The owner also seems to have good manners, but offers no recommendations at all about what to eat. The service could be improved.However, the food portions are on the smallish side. Our experience does not match at all others saying the food is plenty. You have to ask for two full meals for two persons, judging for our amount of food, are we are very light eaters.The range of deserts also leave a lot to desire, however this seems to be normal in this region of Portugal for the segment of this restaurant.Our food was also overcooked. IMO, the quality of the food does not justify spending 30 euros for two persons at all.We do not plan to come back.

We stayed at the pousada da serra da Estrella and because the restaurant's quality we looked for something good and special. We found this really good looking restaurant from the outside and we knew that we had to go in.They have some great dry aged meat that you have abolutelly to taste. The ingredients and the sides are very locally and a great Portuguese cuisine experience.I give it a 5 out of 5!!!!Will come back for sure

A traditional restaurant in the Serra da Estrela, 5 minutes from Covilha. Here you can taste the best grilled kid goat from the mountains and many other options, especially the grilled over coals.

The prices are incredibly high for very small portions and average food. The place has a rustic feeling and nice decoration, but it is tourist trap. There are much much better options with local food and prices that on par with the region. We paid 50 euros for small portions and salty food! We did not drink wine, did not have starters or had dessert! Will not return.
