Nova Gorica (pronounced [ˈnɔ̀ːʋa ɡɔˈɾìːtsa] ( listen); population: 13,852 (town); 21,082 (incl. suburbs); 31,000 (municipality)) is a town and a municipality in western Slovenia, on the border with Italy. Nova Gorica is a planned town, built according to the principles of modernist architecture after 1947, when the Paris Peace Treaty established a new border between Yugoslavia and Italy, leaving nearby Gorizia outside the borders of Yugoslavia and thus cutting off the Soča Valley, the Vipava Valley, the Gorizia Hills and the northwestern Karst Plateau from their traditional regional urban centre. Since 1948, Nova Gorica has replaced Gorizia as the principal urban centre of the Goriška or Gorizia region, as the northern part of the Slovenian Littoral has been traditionally called.

We have been here before and we came back because we had a great experience last time. Also this time, everything was perfect.We ordered appetizer, main dishes and desserts and everything was just delicious. The service is perfect, they are very polite and helpful and they really know to do their job, if you need any advice or you wanna know how some dish is prepared they explain everything. Also the ambient is very nice. Last time we sat inside because it was cold but this time we sat outside and it's even more pleasant. There's no road and you are surrounded with nature,I think that the price is really reasonable for what you get, we payed about 30⬠per person for three courses, a few beers, some wine, coffee and digestives. We will definitely come again and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

There was only 3 tables of customers at this restaurant when we arrived. We waited 15 minutes to order anything and observed other tables that arrived after us being served ahead of us. After finally being able to order drinks, we waited another 20 minutes and as the table behind us had ordered 10 minutes ahead of us (despite arriving 5 minutes after us) and still had not been provided with anything, we gave up in despair and left. Iâd asked for a wifi password when placing our order and was told Iâd have to wait a minute for it. Still waiting.... The restaurant had Trip Advisor recommendations plastered all over itâs doorway and the free wifi declaration was also on a Trip Advisor logo. Sort of cheapens the brand a bit.

Their Burgers are really delicious, and besides they offer other daily cooked food (jota, pasulj...) The beer seleciton is also good, try the local brewed four horsemen of the apocalypse beers (reservoir dogs brewery)

Na zaru is THE place to go for good eats. It is a nice restaurant with a variety of choices. Our family had pasta, steak, soup, cornbread, some kind of sausages, chicken, followed by crepes with Nutella. Everything was amazing. Our waitress was so sweet and she spoke perfect English and really took time to explain the menu. The cutest and best thing she said though was that the food was âmade with loveâ. Canât ever beat that!!!
