Where to eat Seafood food in La Foret-Fouesnant: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We were staying at the hotel itself and decided to try the restaurant for dinner, and were pleased that we did. The food was very good and in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, with good efficient service. We were able to have our (well-behaved) dog with us during the meal. My partner had escalope de dinde which was very tasty and my meal (fish) was very enjoyable. It was also very reasonably priced. The hotel also does breakfasts and the 'serveur' for this was very efficient, helpful and friendly. The generous breakfast consisted of croissants, baguette, jams etc and in addition one can request ham and cheeses, yoghurt, eggs etc, with juices and coffee.

Le Boeuf qui rit is easier to write about than to score, so here goes! It is a new industrial building (no windows) in a shopping precinct. That does not mean it is characterless; just no outlook. There is a set menu for weekdays and it represents very good value There are starters such as snails if you wanted them. We were there to eat beef because they have a real wood BBQ. We sat outside as a nice sunny day and a nicotine habit. Some locals were having a rustic platter between them to start with and we followed. This was a selection of ham, salami, rillettes and a rabbit pate. All were very tasty and good value at 7 euros. We both took entrecote and the rare was almost the same as the medium rare. They were a good size and came with chips and various fresh veg. There were some hefty kebabs doing the rounds and a cut of rib on the bone weighing something amazing like 2 kilos! However, to my regret I didn't see anyone tackling that mores the pity! The service was friendly and efficient. The score of three for the food I think is fair because the meat was a bit gristly in parts but I am sure this varies every day and it could have been just perfect. When you offer a speciality then I think a tad more care should be taken with cooking times. This was lunch on a week-day out of season and not crammed with diners. Get the quality consistent, sharpen up the timings and it could do very well. We will return!
