We met our friends for brunch on Labor Day: was not too crowded. Voted by NJ.com as best diner in Essex County, we decided to meet our friends for a meal. Our friends had the eggs Benedict and really liked them. My wife had an omelette and thought it was good but not great. I had a wrap with fries. The balsamic vinegar on the wrap made the wrap too soggy. The fries were good. Server was super friendly. They have a parking lot.

Our book club had its Christmas dinner at the Chestnut Chateau. They did an excellent job. Every thing was well presented and tasted delicious. Service was friendly and very efficient. Even though there were two other large parties going on sound was well absorbed, unlike other places I have been to where you could not hear yourself talk. Will definitely return.

Not only do they have gyros and souvlaki, but they have green beans & tomatoes just like my grandmother used to make. The lemon potatoes are great too. I'm not sure about the kefalograveri cheese on the fries, as the cheese is kind of subtle for this purpose. But the food is good, extremely reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly.

We ate here recently and enjoyed it as usual. Were warmly greeted as we entered and seated promptly. Brought our own wine and ordered a salad (for sharing), a gyros platter and grilled salmon. All items were tasty and portions generous. Prices very reasonable and service very good. Ambeli is consistently a very good overall dining experience.
