Typical offerings of a Greek style family restaurant and Coney Island thatâs affordable. Itâs family owned and run and the waitresses and friendly. Itâs very reasonably priced with larger portions than some of the local franchises. Breakfast is excellent and not overpriced like some of the popular breakfast and brunch places that have opened up.

Gold Star has been on the hillside forever, it seems, and for many years it was an ideal place for breakfast. Sam, the owner, knew how to run a restaurants since he did it for many years in Detroit before moving to Rochester. His son, Paul, is a poor substitute and needs to wake up and be customer friendly. The restaurant is in terrible need of updating.

Went to the Honey Tree midweek for dinner. Menu selection is varied and reasonably priced. Service is prompt and knowledgeable about preparation and ingredients, which was greatly appreciated. Menu fare leaning towards Greek. I had the moussaka, which was quite good and generous. Accompanying salad was fresh and plentiful using home-made dressings.
