Bit of a locals pub, Had to order my pint over a very large German Shepherd which took up most of the dark bar. Didnât stay for a 2nd pint or come back for a meal.

Under current ownership since June 2010, this charming British Pub in the pretty village of Georgeham is less than 2 miles from some of the best surfing beaches in the UK, and on the doorstep of Exmoor National Park and the rest of beautiful North Devon.
Nothing above average here; the menu reads well but the dishes don't really live up to their description. I had a lovely piece of fish served a very over-powering "cassoulet" not a bean in sight! Even in a country pub, does the landlord really need to sit in his shorts eating his dinner on the patron's side of the bar when the service was lacking. Shame 'cos it's a great location and in the word of the ol' school teacher, could do better!

The Hele Bay Pub is great family pub situated by the sea in the pretty village of Hele Bay on the outskirts of Ilfracombe. Our Specialities include Home-Made Food including Proper Pies, Handmade Burgers and Home-Made Pub Classics. Free Drink with a meal N
We visited the pub based on the reviews on tripadvisor and found it to be very good. The food was lovely and the service friendly. Hele is apparently pronounced Hell! The portions are generous and the food served hot and seemed to be freshly cooked. Even though the pub and restaurant were busy, we still received a good service. At busier times of the year, I would advise booking ahead. The pub is a stones throw from Hele beach which is a pebble beach and dog friendly.

The Pier is a Brewery Tap and Grill serving great real ale from The Wizard Brewing Company and a wide selection of locally sourced gourmet burgers, steaks and seafood, as well as daily specials. Our family friendly pub is situated right on the harbour in
Lacked atmosphere and was very draughty but on a warm night worth a visit, Prices like meals very reasonable and good range of choice.Range of ales somewhat limited but adequate. Whole family i e 2 OAP's 2 daughters and a 4 year granddaughter all had clean plates so what we had was enjoyed, Good tip don't pick the table by the fire exit as it is also used as an entrance by the locals and the outer door is left open so very draughty. Pleasant helpful staff and attentive .Nice rustic fishing interior but at far end of bar have a stage so in peak season "maybe" ratger noisy.
