We have gone to great lengths to try and use only local produce and suppliers, thus ensuring our quality is always of a very high standard for our guests to enjoy. At The Cavendish Arms you are always guaranteed a warm welcome.
Stayed in this old coaching Inn, in the Village Of Cartmel, Cumbria. What to say? There is only a limited amount to offer re rooms and other facilities. Certainly won't suit everyone. Low beams, small windows and dull decor. But, service excellent. Great value breakfast (beans especially good). Sunday lunch: as good as any other enjoyed anywhere else. An aside, the phone seemed to constantly ring re bookings for this Inn - for races, short breaks, and just to experience the Village. What came first? The Village. The Especially popular L'Enclume Restaurant - with all its additions? Will be returning to check this out in the future.

Unique gastropub in Kendal the heart of South Lakes. Amazing food, great atmosphere and fantastic service. Quality ales, artisan gins and craft beer. Log fires, historic setting at Kendal's oldest Inn. Perfect for groups, families, friends and solo travel
I came in today (Sunday 6th October 2019) and what a lovely experience I had for being a single person the young gentleman behind the bar whoâs name I asked was Chris was Very pleasant and friendly made me feel quite at ease as I was on my own for at least half an hour before my friends turned up as I got the time wrong for meeting I will definitely be visiting again

We had a reasonable meal here. My food was ok although my fellow diners did enjoy their food. My fish and chips were uninspiring and the peas without taste. My fellow diners were much happier with their slow cooked lamb and steak. They would have given the restaurant a 4 rating. Would try again and look to improve on my choice!

The Britannia Inn is a lovely traditional style Lake District Pub situated in the small village of Penny Bridge. We serve great ales and other drinks at good prices and tasty locally sourced traditional food to suit everyone's tastes. Food service times :
Small village and small pub, but from Thursday evening to Sunday the pool table etc gets pushed aside, tables spread out and it is a great restaurant serving a limited menu of home cooked food and real chips, pies, pizza (with a name like Godâs allotment I couldnât resist.). Your heart will be warmed by the friendliness of the owners and staff and customers, I felt that it was true Cumbrian hospitality with people who cared. We went back the next night as well!
