Due to the reviews we expected a lot from this place. In retrospect we realize: some things were good, many things were not. Both appetizers were disappointing, the ravioli watery, the beetroots close to tasteless. Of two times calf one was massively tough. The pre-ordered dessert was sold out at the end. Conclusion: disappointing.Dear Francis, First of all thank you for your review. Your remarks imply an answer from us.The ravioli (which are 3) are not "watery". They came on plate with a celery water wich is a full part of the receipe. It's a shame that you didn't undersand that as it is written on the menu.The beetroot may not been your taste but how could be a beetroot tasteless ! It's marinated into red wine sauce and comes on plate with sour cream spum, smoked duckling breast, wild peppers mix and fines herbs ! Maybe the beetroot wasn't what you expected as you asked our waitress many times "what is a beetroot ?" ! I'm also really suprised about one the calf beeing "tough" as both of your pieces comes from the same animal. Nevertheless you didnt asked us for another one we would had been pleased to prepare again especially for you.Finally, again, we aplogogize that the chocolate dessert you pre-order wasnt avaiblable but I personnaly decided to don't serve it as it didn't meet the quality level that I impose on kitchens.

One of the best places in Cancale . The fixed 3 course menu 29/24 depending on weekday/weekend is really good had the assiete de mer and a tuna potato crispy parcel and ice cream ,plus you get nibbles and a small dish in between courses - very friendly and helpful lady there - menus in English although we only wanted the double check the content.Merci

I'm giving this restaurant an excellent rating because, frankly, the food we had and the service we received was excellent.I ordered the whole crab and my wife the smaller mixed shellfish (Matelot) plate. The crab was huge and well prepared. Great, tasty, perfect. My wife's plate had 3 oysters, at least 4 langoustine, at least 8 prawns. 16 bulots and a cup of winkles. Two glasses of Muscadet, coffees and a total bill of 50 EURO. Good service with a smile! We took the opportunity to choose our own main course and let the chef surprise us with the appetizers and dessert. They were great surprises. Each came with three parts, all of the highest quality and presentation. For mains we had the local fish with artichokes, which was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. We also had the lamb, it was tender and not gamey. The potatoes and parsley were very tasty and the beans and ham were just excellent.The owner was on the floor and even thou we speak almost no French, she made us feel at home and as if we were part of her family. Her staff were attentive and very friendly. When we left she and her chef met us at the door and thanked us for dining there. Simply an excellent experience.
