Looking for a cosy restaurant with excellent French and Basque food ? Come and visit us near the Cote des Basques beach ! ;-) Our specialities include barbecued grilled fish and meats, squid, traditional dishes and fruit pastries for dessert ! English
Perfect place if you like steak (with different meat maturity). The meat is prepared in the main guest room (not in the kitchen). The restaurant serves also seafood and fish. Fairly large portion. Friendly service. Good wine list. Highly recommended. Thanks a lot for your visit and your warm comment !

Located in the center of Biarritz in the neighborhood of Port-Vieux, La Marine is located 200 meters from the beach of Port-Vieux and within five minutes walk from the main beach or the Basque Coast .
We split a lunch and the ham started was enough for two (delicious) and then opted for the mussels and french fries. Plenty of mussels in a delicious sauce, and the french fries were perfect. They use real potatoes with the skin left on, perfectly fried so crispy and not greasy, served hot and the perfect size, so toasty on the outside, soft in the middle. Yum!! We'd go again in a heartbeat. The crumble dessert was perfect.

Excellent burger, pasta and goats cheese salad. Very reasonable price too. Didn't have any wine but the wine list looked to have an excellent selection all by the glass also very reasonably priced. Friendly and attentive service. Best restaurant in Bayonne? I'm not sure but it was good simple food.

It is a bit tricky to find, on a side street and downstairs: a true "cave." However the atmosphere is charming - brick walls and tables on wine barrels - and our service was good. Lots of interesting tapas and daily specials on a hard-to-read board. We started with sangria for a change (good), then had gazpacho. I liked it, my husband thought it needed crunchy vegetables. We had wonderful sea bass with a colorful carrot puree. Dessert was a bit-too-sweet caramel mousse.
