In Somersworth at lunchtime, I stopped by the Hot n' Fast Somersworth House of Pizza. It was about time. Iâd been driving past it for many years. At the walk-up counter, I was greeted promptly. I ordered a small Meatball Parmigiana Sub at $6.00.It was about a 10-minute for my food. The sub had been toasted. The fresh roll and everything inside it was very hot. The cheese was completely melted. The meatballs were tender. The sauce had a fresh taste. There were small chunks of tomato in it. The sauce was also thick and very good. I enjoyed the sub here. The place was very clean. Service was great. The woman at the counter was very nice to me. I rate Hot n' Fast Somersworth House of Pizza at 4.0. On a daytrip to Maine during a week of staycation, I had lunch out at Subway. This Subway is near the Maine-New Hampshire state line just over the border from downtown Somersworth. It is located diagonally across the street from the Town of Berwick Municipal Building. Inside, I found plenty of seating. There were conventional tables and chairs and four booths. I decided to go with the 6â Sub of the Day at $3.50 which was the Turkey Breast Sub. With Maine Meals Tax, it was $3.77. I took lettuce, sliced tomato, olives, and red onion with Caesar Sauce. I skipped cheese. The 9 Grain Wheat is my favorite Subway roll; but, on this day, I took the Italian Herb & Cheese instead. Service was prompt and friendly. The order was accurate. The place was fairly clean, except for some crumbs on the tables in one pair of booths. When I brought that to the counterwomanâs attention, she cleaned the tables immediately. The turkey was fresh. It was much like the meat in the new Autumn Carved Turkey Sub that Iâd had the day before only this turkey was sliced thinner in the conventional way. The lettuce and tomato slices and other veggies were fresh. The Caesar Sauce added more flavor to the bland vegetables - mainly the shredded iceberg lettuce. The sub was very good. It was just what I've come to expect from the Subway chain since the company upgraded the quality of the meats it uses.Overall, I rate this Subway at 4.0 and can recommend it to others. There is a very limited menu here. Sandwiches, soup, chips and drinks for the most part. I got a large turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato and pickles on it. It was ok but I really didn't care for the roll. It seemed like a "Wonder Bread" white, doughy roll that lacked fiber and taste. This is a basically a fast food place but a notch above. It's located on a busy street and we had to park a distance away since there were no spots nearly available. It tied us over but I wouldn't go back.
