Very disappointed second time round. Doner Kebab was shockingly dry as a bone and very small amount in portion too...not edible at all....well for the chips, they must have been refried as the were just very bitty, hard and dry. Too pricey for what you get served.Definitely not worth a visit again.

We decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway. My son kindly went to get it for us and was surprised they don't accept cards so he had to go to the cash point, twice as didn't anticipate 4 fish, curry sauces and 2 lots of chips would be £28 !! I was amazed and despite the fact we enjoyed them, can't see us having them regularly as it's such alot of money !
Where to eat Gastropub food in Ampthill: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Leon is a fast food restaurant that is all about quality and freshness. It certainly was!I had two Vegan Love burgers over 2 visits.. no I'm not Vegan by the way! They just looked good in their images.. and sounded very tasty. The fact I've now had 2 tells it's own story!Just over £6 they're not cheap (could be due to being 'trapped' inside Center Parcs Woburn!) but they were well worth it. Tomato, pickle, lettuce and their own vegan burger sauce (obvious dill herbs too) it was gorgeous. A thick slice of smoked vegan Dutch style cheese really added some boost of flavour. The patty itself was a mix of plant proteins and had the consistency of a good meat burger. It wasn't trying to be meat.. nor was it a dry veggie imitation. Definitely something I've never tried before. It was really really good.On another visit my family tried some other dishes.GFC gluten free chicken nuggets! My son loved them. Crunchy outside.. soft inside. No nasty additives. They disappeared very quickly. My daughter had the waffle style fries. Hot, crunchy and nicely spiced. They looked a bit more processed than I expected from Leon's.I had the plantain carribean curry. 8 or so plantain slices, coconut, creamy, gentle spice and heat. Sweet too. Served on large grains of natural rice. A huge amount of rice.. could have done with some more sauce really. But, very tasty. Never had plantain before.. I will again. This dish was recommended by a lady working there on my first visit.. she said most staff ate it.. and I can see why.The last dish we tried was morrocan meatballs. Really filling, large portion. Meatballs rich and flavoursome. The sauce and salad all mixed together well and the whole dish tasted fresh and felt like you were putting quality produce into your body. The fact I had 3 meals there.. all Vegan.. shows how GREAT the food is! (From a meat eater!)Craft beers in a small tin around £4 and other soft drinks available. Fair prices I guess for staying in.The restaurant is airy and unique in it's decor. Service at the counter was always friendly and fast. My only grumble is that Leon is all about clean, quality, environment etc. But we had to eat using plastic knives and forks. In a world rapidly removing single use plastic.. this was surprising. All in all. Well worth a visit.. and try something animal friendly instead of the norm. You won't regret it.
We thought we would try lunch here as looked different. Was nice food for adults - wasn't keen on the menu for kids as abit on the expensive side. But was a nice try.
