Find out what European restaurants to try in Road Town. The former haunt of pirates, the Dutch and the English and Tortola's main town, Road Town is within reach of secluded beaches and hidden coves. The island displays the same leisurely pace as other British Virgin Islands, with festivals and regattas across the calendar. Helicopter and sea charters and diving are popular activities. On land, the ruins of Fort Burt and the still functioning Callwood Rum Distillery provide fun daytrips. Catch a cab between sights or rent a car to get out of town.

Overlooking the Sir Francis Drake Chanel this beautiful restaurant has stunning views, garden lounge seating, delicious Mediterranean cuise and first class service.
I live on Tortola and had guests visiting me from the UK this past week. Brandywine is a favorite of mine so, even though we had a packed itinerary of things to do and places to see, we managed to squeeze in two visits - one for lunch and one for dinner. On the day we went for lunch, at least (which was a Friday), they didn't have a separate lunch menu and it was the full dinner menu. The views across the Sir Francis Drake channel are so beautiful during the day, it's a shame to not sit on the covered terrace. It's a bit more casual and the tables are all high-tops. At night, even when you don't get the views, it's still my favorite area to have dinner. You can't beat the open-air feeling and the great tropical breezes. There was a new dinner menu and, among us and between the two visits, we tried the beef tenderloin (with both the green peppercorn and the blue cheese sauces), the branzino, the eggplant parmesan, the beetroot and burrata tower, and the linguini al frutti di mare. Everything was top notch. One of my guests is a world traveler and has eaten at many of the best restaurants in the biggest cities and he couldn't stop raving about the tenderloin. He said it may have been the best steak he ever had. Coming from him, that's saying something. I would agree. It's consistently so tender, you can almost cut it with a spoon. The branzino is a fillet and it's presented beautifully. The service was great on both visits. On the lunch visit, we were limited for time and let our server know that on our way in. We were attended to quickly, got our food quickly, never felt rushed and were in out in the time I told her.The owners, Regis and Claudine, are always welcoming, and Regis generally strolls through, checking with guests. He's got a big personality, as well as being a world-class chef.Brandywine has been around for decades, through several ownership changes, but it's really at its best now. The renovations after the hurricanes have made it into a gem and the location and views across the channel are spectacular. But anyplace in the world, it would be considered a great restaurant. It's a must-do when you're on Tortola.

A fantastic dinner of high quality food....an Italian cheese board to start with followed by a tasty risotto and a succulent beef tenderloin accompanied with a bottle of Camigliano Gualto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2011 from Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy. In addition, the service, the staff and the experience were all first class and the meal is by far the best in Tortola, BVI!
Opened as a branch of the famous Brandywine Estate Restaurant, The Rooftop is one of the places to be in Road Town. It gives amazing opportunity for the guests to enjoy the panoramic view of Tortola and nearby islands. Inspirited by French & local cuisine

Fine dining but on real food with substantial portions. Cocktail bar and Pavillions lounge area overlooking the sea. 400 year old stone built dining room formerly the Rum house of the plantation. Terace section overlooking the sea.
My husband and I stayed at the Sugar Mill just after Easter and ate two nights at the restaurant. The scallops with mushroom risotto was recommended and it was delicious! We had a lovely dinner with top notch, friendly service. This is why we went back again, even though the prices are a bit steep.
