Took our two young daughters for family dinner night of July 20. Glad we did. We've been going to this restaurant in its incarnations since 2001. Manager now is excellent and unflustered despite being short a staff body. Excellent local selection of wine and ice cold, delicious beer. Salads, steak, halibut, gnocchi all solid choices. I encourage regulars to get back and enjoy a nice dinner in the grotto. Hope 1908 thrives.. It deserves to.

Front Street Brasserie is a restaurant in Penticton serving French-inspired comfort food! Relax with friends, share a glass of wine, and savour the moment
This was a fantastic evening. I most enjoyed the attention to detail, exquisite flavors and warm hospitality. They had an incredible wine list to our perfectly with the meals and I loved the share plates. It made for a truly romantic dinner. Thank you Lisa and John for the love!
This place is probably the best dining option in Summerland. It's nicely located at the Summerland Yacht Club. It's very casual, with both patio or indoor seating. Inside though, it doesn't resemble a restaurant. It looks like an empty banquet room with maybe 2 small tables and a big screen tv. The better option is to sit outside, especially if it's a nice evening. The menu is basically a hand full of appetizers, 3 entrées and 3 desserts written on a chalk board, which leads me to believe that the menu changes daily. All entrées were really well priced at $16 each.I choose the Parisian Steak with vegetables and roasted potatoes. It came sliced and cooked perfectly medium as ordered, with a dollop of garlic butter on top. It may not have been the best cut of steak, but the flavour was very good. The carrots avoided being your typical side, by not being over cooked and by being coated with a nice sauce. The asparagus and roasted potatoes were also well cooked and tasty. I had the house made apple strudel with ice cream and blue berries for dessert. This could have been better. The strudel was cold and should have been warmed up to compliment the cold ice cream. Also, the blueberries didn't make a good combination with the apple strudel. It was a very average tasting dessert. Being that the entrées were so well priced at $16, the dessert would have been better priced at around $5, not the $7 they charged. Perhaps if the dessert was exceptional, then the price would be warranted. Dessert aside, I still feel this place is very well worth dining at. Very good quality and price with decent service. I would most definitely eat here again.

This is an unassuming cafe in downtown. It would be easy to walk by except for their sandwich-sign posting that offered Polish food. We had the combination plate and it was wonderful - cabbage rolls, sausage and porgies. They had local wine too. The couple that own and run the cafe were so nice to us and they came from Europe so it was authentic. The portion was so large and so good that we took the leftovers with us and microwaved them another time, despite traveling!
