Came in for date night with the husband, had the salmon pasta and was actually amazed at how good it was, the staff put the experience over the top! I was served by a younger gentleman named Jaz who had really good banter and made my night. Grouse & Claret is an excellent family run business with appealing views over the next door trout fishery.. The food was very, very good. Did exceptional meal for a vegeterian in our party which was better than a Michelin starred restaurant in Edinburgh. Have been before & will return again.

We received a warm welcome by staff who advised they were currently quiet so feel free to pick our table. We choose a table by the window in the restaurant which was very comfortable and stylish. The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We had mushroom brusetta for starters which was very tasty and well presented. The roast of the day was pork which again was very good and beautifully presented. The vegetables were varied eg broccoli, cauliflower, parsnip etc and still had a "bite" which is so much better than over cooked vgetables. We did not manage a dessert. Highly recommend and will most definitely return.

My wife and I ate here twice during a 3 day Christmas break. The food was very well cooked, tasted great and reasonable sized portions. The staff were polite, professional and very efficient. The day we had Christmas lunch was very busy but everything looked well planned and the whole process went very smoothly. The timing between courses was perfect. We really enjoyed the experience.
