A place for people to come together to experience local service, local produce and food you know done well. We are an eatery and bar set in an old school house, with a garden courtyard situated in the heart of Featherston.

Highly disappointing. Coffee (trim late) over extracted and milk almost scorched. Dutch pancakes: looks pretty, flavours on point but plate filling and syrup ice cold so by the time it got to the table the food was chilled. Also covered in raw orange zest tendrils which werenât a very nice texture. This classical hotel was built around 1868 and opened to the public shortly thereafter. It sits on the North side of Featherston, close to the train tracks. The rooms are old fashioned, with lots of wood-paneling, large, comfortable beds, ornate, gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers, en suite bathrooms with shower and/or tub and quaint, old-fashioned art on the walls. Some rooms have desks and chairs. The restaurant serves elaborate, fine food, with the corresponding selection of local wines. For a town like Featherston, this is an excellent hotel.

Dropped in with family who recommended the place.We ordered a range of pizzas and were not disappointed.I had the blue cheese one which had lots of great flavours going on. All the other pizzas on the table were the same, great taste and presentation.Good friendly service as well.The only down side of this visit was the temperature with the restaurant being on the cool side. The door had a hard job closing so got left open for short periods that didn't help.Thanks Peter for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Yes, we are undoubtedly aware of our faulty door and are already in the process of getting this fixed with the help of our landlord. We apologise that it adversely affected your visit and trust that it will be fixed in time for your next visit. Mainly a Wedding Reception place but does cater to snacks and Coffee tea in an area between function rooms.Came in after a wedding service below rear in gardens, had a good coffee and cakes enjoyed them,Thank you for your review, good to know you enjoyed your coffee and cake and we're looking forward to seeing you again soon.
