Auf der Suche nach einem Lokal fÃ¼r das Mittagessen sind wir ganz unverhofft im Restaurant Ochsen eingekehrt und haben somit die richtige Wahl getroffen. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen, die Speisen haben sehr gut geschmeckt und auch das PreisleistungverhÃ¤ltnis ist absolut stimmig. Dazu kommt, dass es sich jeweils um sehr grosszÃ¼gige Portionen handelt und niemand hungrig das Restaurant verlassen wird :)

Das schlechte vorne weg.Wenn man als Wirt vor den Augen der GÃ¤ste seine schlechte Laune zeigt und sich nicht beherrschen kann, dann stellts mir ab!!So was muss nicht sein!!Das Service Personal ist auf jeden Fall freundlich und verteilt auch noch Umgebungs Tpps.Auf Wunsch fÃ¤hrt ein grosser Bus von BÃ¤rschis in ca. 20 Min. die sehr steile Bergstrasse hoch.Das Berghotel hat eine sehr schÃ¶ne Gartenwirtschaft und steht auf einem sehr, sehr schÃ¶nen PlÃ¤tzchen. Vom Hotel aus gehtâs entweder auf einer breiten Kiesstrasse Richtung Palfries oder Richtung LÃ¼sis.

This was a family hotel restaurant combination. Food was good, beer nice and room tempered. Very quaint restaurant.

Restaurant and Hotel with beautiful surroundings and mountain view. Located on a sunny plateau high above the lake of Walenstadt. Quiet place for relaxing time-out and to recharge one's batteries. Delicious and only home made food. Beautiful walking area

We came here for the good reviews and the location. The location was quite nice with simple seating / dining area. We were quite surprised - Friday evening and still enough seats / an empty parking was not exactly what we expected. The service was excellent and very friendly, helpful and attentive so nothing at all to complain, the food was nice but for those high prices we would have expected more. The high prices might be another reason why locals would not come here for dinner.
