It is 22 miles (35 km) northeast of Downtown Pittsburgh, along the Allegheny River. Tarentum was an industrial center where plate glass and bottles were manufactured; bricks, lumber, steel and iron novelties, steel billets and sheets, sack and wrapping paper were also produced. The Pennsylvania Railroad operated a station in Tarentum; its rail line ran through the town. The population was 4,530 at the 2010 census. Two statues of Hebe, the Greek goddess of youth, are displayed by the borough in Tarentum.

Grandson wanted to try out this restaurant. Their reputation is well known. They are located along a very busy stretch of road. I ordered fish on a plate, coleslaw, fries and coffee. My little guy ordered chicken and fries. The inside of the establishment is quite small, but comfortable. The employees are warm and welcoming. Our food was very good, although I did not care for the coleslaw. We were hoping to enjoy pie for dessert, but they were sold out. We tried their cinnamon rolls and enjoyed every bite.

Kings used to run by local management but sold the business to more of a national group over a year ago. I think the quality of the food and menu have gone downhill. Used to enjoy going there on the weekend for breakfast but recent changes to the prices and menu have put an end to that. It has been a while since we have been back. I would recommend Kings if no other sit down choices are available, but the local area has limited diners.

We stopped in for a family brunch (5 people). Bright atmosphere, fast friendly service even though they were very busy, very tasty food - salads, soup, sandwiches, breakfast food, all delicious and entire menu available any time of day. Will definitely be back! Good coffee too.

This place is the best if you are looking for delicious and large for breakfast all day and lunch till 3:00. Wonderful variety of sandwiches, burgers and salads recall food of days gone, and contemporary wraps as well...all made to order. Huge, fluffy pancakes and home fries can be added to great breakfasts. Home made desserts, best to take home since the portions are enormous. Cute atmosphere. Something for everyone.
