At 6 am (local hour) my breakfast was ready... I had a great American Skillet and some cups of coffee. The only concern, I was feeling of being shivers: I really don't understand the reason to mantain the inside temperature so low...

We visited the Douglas Avenue Diner while holiday shopping in the Caledonia - Racine area. It was a great discovery! It was a very iconic middle 20th century diner, with the vinyl booths and chairs and rock nâ roll memorabilia. I had a traditional breakfast, and it was pretty good, but I think the decor was probably the best part about the diner. If your passing through Racine I would definitely recommend stopping here for a nice breakfast or lunch.

I stopped at the Park Inn on a midweek early afternoon while looking for a quick bite that wasn't fast food. The place has a large counter area with stools and there is also table and chair areas for a larger group. The menu is pretty good for a diner but the prices were very reasonable. I tried a double cheeseburger and fries and paid under $6.00. The burger was good tasting and hot. The fries were crispy (as I asked) and also hot. The service was very friendly and the waitress checked several times if I needed anything and brought my what I asked for immediately. It was also prepared and served quickly. I would go back anytime I am in the area and certainly prefer this to a drive through style fast food. I would like to try some of their other offerings.
