After less than thrilling breakfasts at the hotel we opted for a late breakfast here before heading to Yellowstone. The omelettes hit the spot, the fried potatoes tasty, and the sourdough bread was addictive. Service was fine in this 50s diner atmosphere and parking ample. It was worth the extra time to come here rather than find some place closer to the highway. And the price was very reasonable.

It's been awhile since we ate here and stopped in on a road trip for an early supper. Husband ordered hot beef sandwhich, which was very good, no complaints there but I ordered my usual, the quesadilla "appetizer". Normally this is fantastic, but this time it didn't make the cut. Skimpy on the chicken and it was loaded with semi raw onions. The onions were in large chunks and so overpowering it was ridiculous. Since this is made with 2 tortillas with the filling grilled, the melted cheese made it difficult to pick apart to get rid of the over abundance of the onions. Normally, this is served with a tomatilla type sauce with the cheese and protein. . . seems they basically have cut out the sauce and gone overboard on the onions. Disappointment. For this I deducted the 1 star. I had debated on fish (cod) and chips and after seeing the order I was glad I didn't. The table across from me ordered it and the fish looked like it was in very overcooked batter and was dry. I overheard this comment as well. . . I will eat again, but try the sarnies to be safe.

This is a great hometown diner. The waitress was super nice and everyone knew everyone which makes eating breakfast kind of nice. We had a pancake and poached eggs on toast. But a great menu and it all looked good. If Iâm ever in Idaho Falls again I will definitely stop for a meal anytime of the day.

Since Idaho Falls functions as a hub to eastern Idaho and even much of western Wyoming, it only makes sense that Black Bear Diner would want to put its own stamp on the city. Located on the way toward the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park, our
...but I think this place is great! They have a beliefs section on the menu, basically putting the customer first, promising to serve plentiful good food. I think they deliver on thee promises big-time! The "Club Omelette is outstanding. I always post pictures, this place can be proud! Look at the "scramble bowl" and the omelette pictures - proof of the chock-full delicious ingredients. Our server was sweet, the orange juice is fresh squeezed, you're greeted with a table of snacks at the entrance. I'm coming back here for sure! The two of us ate for $29, we had sides and coffee / orange juice.
