Breakfast food was great, but the coffee was awful, very, very week. Itâs a family restaurant and makes you feel very welcome, but really wanted a good cup of coffee. So hopefully this will let them know and the next time we are in there, it will be a lot better.Place is very clean and very busy. A good spot.

OK - to be perfectly honest, my Mom and Dad really like this restaurant and that's OK. Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to great places to eat. The waiter we had was not attentive after taking our order. In fact, a different waiter brought us our food. Had to ask for re-fills in our glasses. I had the fried chicken daily special and BOY! - was it ever fried! Very overdone chicken. Not a bit of moisture to be found and the portions were small. Fried Zucchini was limp, breaded and I'm pretty sure it came from a frozen box. No taste to it. Also, had a side salad with Ranch dressing which was OK. So, Mom and Dad liked their meals but, I did not.....at all!

The food here was incredible! Service (MJ) was spot on and so friendly. My husband was over the moon because (1) they gave him his own coffee pot and (2) they had homemade grits. I had fantastic turkey sausage gravy and biscuits. Everything is hot and made with fresh ingredients.

My folks and I go here every time I visit them in Fort Myers, FL. It has always been consistently good.....until this time. Ambience is great! Lots of old stuffs to look at on the walls. I ordered one of the specials this time around - the fried fish fingers with fries (my Mom ordered the same and my Dad had the Philly cheesesteak). Dad's cheesesteak looked good and he said it was good. Mom and I were not so impressed with the fish special - dry and tough. Tartar sauce attempted to moisten them some - but, to no avail! Hard to swallow this meal! I'll try Mel's again on my next trip, just will not be ordering any fish fingers!
