Reviews on Diner food in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, United States. Located about a 2 ½-hours drive from the state capital of Raleigh, this welcoming strand of coastline is the perfect blend of solitude and activities. Emerald Island is by no means desolate. There are plenty of funky shops that sell traditional beach trinkets, including T-shirts, toys and water toys for the entire family. If it’s outdoor activities you want, you will find plenty of opportunities for swimming, fishing, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, sailing and more. Kids love flying kites along these sandy white beaches. You can also enjoy a plethora of sightseeing, shopping, golf and other fun activities.

Maybe I expected too much. The ambience is pure cliche, but I guess that's what they are going for. The menu is fairly extensive for a fifties-themed burger place, with some entree plates in addition to the usual suspects.I chose the burger with pimento cheese and bacon, and I got the Andy-size (advertised to be nearly 11 ounces, but seemed about the same size as any other quarter-pounder burger from a fast food place. I had a "where's the cheese" moment when I was looking for the tiny spot of it on top of the burger in the middle of the bun (look at my picture and look at the menu picture). The burger was dry, not surprising since the server told me they only cook burgers "well done" and it came out so fast there is no way they are cooking to order... Tots were OK. They make a big deal about their frozen custard...I love frozen custard, but never had it as a scooped ice cream, only soft serve. The Concrete I ordered was just like any other Oreo shake from any other place. Service here was attentive and friendly, but I was not impressed with anything else.

Enjoyed eating there after golf at bradywine golf course. True local diner. Had cheesesteak which was awesome. Also our table had shrimp burger, steak sandwich and Reuben. All were very good.

Had breakfast this am at The Banks Grill and it lived up to the reviews. The service was very good and there was a number employees working. We arrived early and had only a short wait. Portions were large, prices were good, coffee was great and the grits were some of the best we have had. The biscuits were large, light and delicious. A great breakfast spot!

My husband and I stopped for a quick breakfast. The food was served quick and was delicious. The service was great too - and friendly. I had a bacon and cheese omelette with hash browns and biscuit. My husband had the Cox Special - scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes. They even had sugar-free syrup!Weâll be back! I do have to mention how narrow the wood booths are in the first section of the restaurant! Go ahead and grab a table in the dining area to the left
