We eat at deli's across the country. I was so disappointed by the service that it took away from the food. The restauant was filled with employees but had no other customers while we were there. Nevertheless ordering was pure chaos. Our order-taker couldn't remember that she had taken our order and then she got offended when we spoke with someone else. It took quite a bit of time between ordering and getting our food. Plus I think it's really strange to have a deli without serving hot matzo ball soup. the sandwiches were good. The desserts looked good. They also did not have lox eggs onion.they should take a trip to Kenny and Ziggy's in Houston and see how a good deli is run. Kaufman's has the opportunity to create a great deli if they had a good mentor.

Bat 17, located in Evanston, IL, is a unique, upscale deli & pub, serving gourmet dishes, in a fun & casual atmosphere. With us you'll never leave hungry!
Heard really good things about the burger that was suppose to be the best in Evanston. Turns it the burger was good but not great. The beef was under seasoned and the brioche bun was dry. The other toppings, sides, and condiments were on point though.
We were in the area and stopped at Jimmy Johns for sandwiches, and followed it up by a dessert from Dairy Queen. But back to Jimmy John's. We ordered an ultimate porker which consists of smoked ham, bacon, lettuce tomato & mayo. Nothing crazy, but simple, and very good. The staff was friendly & the prices were reasonable.
The sandwiches are the same at all of the Subways so they are dependable. Parking can be very difficult at the location on the South side of Lake Ave in the little strip mall especially at lunch or dinner time!
