Came to celebrate my girlfriends birthday between classes at Converse, and the place didn’t disappoint! The dining area was full, not an empty table, so first impression let me know the sandwiches would be fantastic! Can’t wait to come back

We love German food and decided to check this place out. We ordered the Nuremburg sausage plate and two iced teas. The owner was nice, to a point. She brought our teas but it wasn't regular iced tea. It was a different tea, pale yellow, with lemon. They tasted different and was only okay. The plate of sausages came (3 small, slender sausages) with sour kraut and the owner told the cook to give us only half the kraut and add half potato salad (both were very small amounts and another customer eating beside us said the sides were on the very small side to begin with. The sausages were fantastic but the kraut was bland and the potato salad was full of onions. We asked for a sample of the advertised cucumber salad and a sample of red cabbage. We were brought a tiny amount (as expected as a sample. Just a small bite each). The cucumber salad was not as expected ( like other German restaurants ). This was thinly sliced cucumbers in vinegar with a few seasonings and no dill dressing. The red cabbage was bland. Not like other German restaurants (sweet tart with applesauce). The plate was 10.00 with two teas. The bill came to 18.00! We were charged a 2.00 fee for plate sharing!!! And another 2.00 for a side item. We didn't have a side item, only a one bite sample each. When I asked about the charges, the young woman ringing me up apologized and said she understood and explained that the 2.00 charge for plate sharing was on the menu under the sandwich section. We didn't read the sandwich section as we only wanted the sausages. The owner, herself, offered us the extra plate and never mentioned the plate sharing charge. She also knew that this was our first time in her restaurant because we told her when we came in the door. She was nice while we were ordering and eating but her attitude changed when I went to pay and was charged more than what I knew to be correct. We expected great German food and except for the sausages, there was nothing great about the rest, including the charges. The whole menu prices are steep for bland food. We will not be returning. This was January 17, 2017.

This was always one of our go-to's for a good, inexpensive light meal, but this visit made us very dissatisfied. Food was still OK, but cleanliness was lacking in both the eating areas and in the bathrooms. Service personnel did not seem very interested in their jobs: the vanilla side of their ice cream machine was empty--we told two different employees, one just shrugged and agreed with us, the other simply ignored my wife. Other customers complained also. No one took care of the problem
