We have just spent an evening in Pelliccione. The whole meal was excellent, but the real star of the show was the service.We were made to feel incredibly welcome despite not having too much of the language. We even finished the evening off with Grappa in the Grotto! Please visit if you are in the area. You won't regret it if you want a real Italian feed.

A row of deli style pavement restaurants sit in the heart of Ariccia, just across the bridge with amazing views.The food was simple, tasty and great value offering more of a tapas style of portion designed for sharing with Mozzerella balls way bigger than you usually find in the UK.We took the challenge of the 20 dish menu and between 6 of us just about managed it..In true Italian style the Limoncello made the rounds at the end of the meal and we all left full and happy.While in the area take a ride down the anti gravity road where going up looks like coming down and vice versaBetween Albano and Nemi lakes, called "Ariccia's downhill".[33] Coming from Rocca di Papa (little town near Rome), driving forward Ariccia direction, acrossing "via dei laghi" you'll get on the ss218, after 100 meters you are on the "magic downhill".

Go out of your way to eat here. Black truffle carbonara, home made meats and breads and antipasti, friendly staff, cheap and good house wine, and I could go on. I have really enjoyed the Cantina Palmieri. The decorations, in a vintage style, are cool. Even the toilet is fashionable.I had a sandwich with Pastrami, I would have add more horseradish but it was delicious. Also, the waitress was professional and the final bill fair! Iâll definitely go back to taste more dishes
