Fresh seasonal and locally sourced produce ,cooked to order , great single origin coffee, cask ales, craft lagers & fantastic cocktails.
Just got back from Sunday lunch at the Lyndhurst. First time there since the new management took over. Initial reaction was that not much had changed, apart from there being a lack of 'pub' feel, and it being more of a restaurant. It took quiet a while to get attended, there were only two front of house staff working, and they seemed to be struggling. Our starters were good, but mains, both roast beef, were not good. Firstly the beef, the top slice was medium rare as to be expected, the second slice underneath was so well done it was shoe leather. Same on both plates. I'm worried about the chef that thought it acceptable to send that out. My other complained is that there was no greens served on the plate. I would have been fine with this if there had been an option on sides, but there weren't any sides. When we called out our unhappiness the waiter seemed to be out of his depth and unable to deal with me. No apology was offered. Shame as Reading needs good food pubs.Hi ,Thank you for taking the time to review The Lyndhurst. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your main meal .Our Sunday lunches are popular and as such can get very busy and feel more like a restaurant. Please if you could email [email protected] we could persuade you to give us another try .

A charming old country pub and restaurant with great food, fine wine, real ale and a warm welcome. Finalist for Berks and Bucks Pub of the year 2013. Locally owned and run as a free house serving a mix of modern English dishes, hearty classics and weekly
Visited with extended family for Saturday evening meal and from arrival to departure had a wonderful time. Service from host Olly was exceptional. Always on hand to answer questions and keep an eye on the service levels from the staff. Food was excellent not just the steaks which you would expect here but the fish was also very good. Wine list adequate and reasonably priced. Would recommend and will be back soon.

Zest at Lime Square is a waterfront restaurant situated in Reading in Berkshire. The restaurant is decorated with plenty of glass, solid oak floors, neutral walls with warm wood tables and plush hide chairs. It has already won Reading's 'Restaurant of the
Recently visited Zest after booking a large party for an early dinner after our Away Day. As there were 45 of us, we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The restaurant was very clean and the food was lovely. With such a large group, we were able to pre order, with a variety of set menus to choose from. Sally, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with in organising everything and made the whole booking experience so easy. A real bonus was Zest printing off the pre order and putting these on our tables so everyone knew what they were eating! As the organiser of a large party - this was so helpful! I highly recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again.
