Met for a biz lunch in cozy dining room which was lovely & quiet a bit after the usual lunch hour. The food was generous we had the fish sandwhich, a pastrami & cheese rollup, sweet potato fries & no room for dessert. The service was good & the ambience sunny, warm & inviting.

We discovered this restaurant while driving by on 28a and while it was a busy Saturday night - we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Our service was great and the food was excellent. Both my partner and I had seafood dishes which were excellent and the clam chowder appetizer was heavenly. Our service was competent despite it being busy and the owner was walking around checking up on the patrons. This is obviously a place well-loved by the locals - everyone seemed to know everyone and there was a friendly vibe to the place. I would have rated this restaurant with 5 stars but for some reason, the ambiance or décor just didn't feel right - I'm being picky I know but it didn't quite have that Cape feel to it - the two bars scattered amongst the dining areas didn't help either. Everything else was top-notch.

Traditional favorites share the menu with contemporary cuisine. Lovely dining rooms offer a choice of settings; candle-lit rooms, fireside dining in the Music Room or garden side dining in the sun or moonlit Conservatory combine with outstanding service a
We went on a Friday night and we had made a reservation. We arrived and were seated very quickly, in the tavern, as we had our 2 children with us. We hadn't dined here before, so we didn't have a preference. I ordered a red sangria, it was ok, and I ordered a second one, but it wasn't good at all, I didn't drink it, the waitress didn't question why it was left untouched. Perhaps she didn't notice because once the entrees came out we didn't see her again until it was time for the check, that's right, she didn't check with us to see how things were. I can understand that she was busy, but other restaurants get busy, and we still have better service than we had here.Anyways, the food, my husband was disappointed with his chicken coq au vin. He was expecting a braised chicken, and he received a dry chicken. It wasn't a true chicken coq au vin, in his opinion. I had the wok fired atlantic salmon, it was good. The atmosphere was nice.I don't know that we would return to eat here.Dear lola72 ~We are very disheartened to hear that your experience was far from a positive memorable one; we certainly do apologize. We have reviewed your comments with all the appropriate teams. We understand that you don't think you will return, and that is understandable based on your experience - we certainly do work to provide an experience that is positive - in your case, it does seem that we missed the mark. We did not eat here, but will next time. We had a drink at the beautiful bar inside this former Catholic church! It is a pretty place and the bartender was friendly. Staff friendly too. Nice place and look forward to a meal here as well on next visit.Thank you so much! Hope to see you soon again!
