This historic building was refurbished in April 2011. The pub offers fresh local produce on our weekly changing menu, a selection of lager, ales, cider & wine from local suppliers. Our Head Chef, Frederic Bodeau, has worked at many top establishments in F
Really good menu and specials for the hearty appetite or those wanting a lighter bite. Plenty of choice from burgers, sausages, fish & chips to salads and specials. Very friendly service and a good choice of beers etc. Nice inside and also lovely outside of the weather allows. Would highly recommend the burger and the amazing âchipsâ which were more like roast potato wedges with a tasty tomato relish. Caesar salad also excellent. Great timing for a business lunch. If only we had room for pudding!

Beautiful 16th century pub with 4 en suite B&B rooms, local beers, private dinning area and a newly refurbished restaurant. A perfect place to have food and cosy up by our original fire place Open everyday. Food times 12-3, 6-9 Tuesday to Saturday & 12-6
The fish and chips here are spot on, light crispy batter, large piece of fish, chunky chips with minted pea puree (not mushy peas) and good quality tartar sauce. The service is always charming and the surroundings a mix of the new and old, spacious restaurant area at the back overlooks the cricket ground and some tables on the rear patio, even more tables outside at the front. There are some specials on a chalk board which are quite expensive, we haven't sampled the sandwich menu yet. There's a private dining room at the side which would suit a small family or other gathering.

Relaxed fine dining in the heart of Cuckfield village, West Sussex, a contemporary interior set inside a Victorian building with garden overlooking the beautiful Sussex Downs. Thoughtfully sourced beautifully prepared food, matched with an elegant wine li
We came here for my husbands birthday. There was a card for him when we arrived, which was a lovely touch.Good atmosphere, despite being nearly empty. Excellent service. Food was amazing, good choice and beautifully presented. Each dish was a surprise, well presented and tasted delicious. We will be back!Hi Penguin, in my opinion its the little touches that separate you from the rest! Obviously you need to get the fundamentals right first, which it sounds like we did? Thank you for your positive feedback. Best wishes, Joel

Country lane bar and restaurant serving classic pub food, fresh cooked daily using locally sourced ingredients. Great selection of local and world ales, lagers, spirits and wines. Family and dog friendly - all are welcomed with a warm smile. Full English
A whole coachload we felt was too many for this establishment. The staff were very obliging a friendly and managed to keep a smile in the heat. The fish in batter was extremely small to say the least and extremely dry, scampi would have been better to offer. Instead of calling out the dishes as they emerged from the kitchen they called our names which didn't help in the din as there were 2 James, 2 Pam's 3 Tony's etc., bless them, the waitresses tried there best, nontheless, we enjoyed it anyway, but probably much better in a small group and not a coach party.Hi there, Thanks for review, we were one staff short that day so we were a little slower than normal so we do and did apologise for that, I wish you would have let us know on the day so we could have changed the scampi, we do smaller portions as the menu you had was the silver bells menu,we had a great time and serving you all, was lovely and thanks for visiting us kindest regards Michaela
