we arrived for a late lunch, and table available just as we walked in. once again great service and the food as always fresh, tasty and well presented. The quiche selection with salad is often where I go, this time bacon and leek, this was excellent and really nice salad, my wife being mad on the soups went for pea and leek, which also was excellent and served with lovely bread. We always enjoy calling in here when in the area, good portion size, friendly and welcoming staff, need I say more.

A short and pleasant stay in Bakewell and this was the best meal we had. Not an extensive menu but a good selection. My choice of the lamb main course was superb. A very pleasant atmosphere in a roomy restaurant - which is a surprise after seeing the small frontage. Not cheap, but good value considering the quality of the food, and good service. Strongly recommended.

Traditonal pub, with a modern twist serving a selction of well kept cask ales, and excellent pub grub.
A long way from home, we came to The Manners for lunch. Inside and outside it appears to be a no-frills pub. The food, however, is absolutely amazing. A high proporttion of items on the menu were either gluten-free or could be made so (important for us as one of us is gluten-free). One of us had cod wrapped in Parma ham with green beans and citrus cream sauce, the other had honey roasted belly pork on black pudding hash. Exceedingly generous portions, beautifully presented, exquisitely cooked. In decades of eating pub lunches and dinners, I do not recall one as good as this one at The Manners. With a side of veg, two lime and sodas the bill came to £33 - unbelievably good value. The super-friendly waitress told us that a husband and wife team own and run the pub and do the cooking. Well done to them and many thanks!A lovely place which we will be back to next year when we make our annual pilgrimage to the Rock and Fossil Fair in Bakewell.

We were out and about with friends and just popped in for coffee and cake. Lovely welcome and lovely atmosphere for a Saturday morning. Coffee was excellent and the Bakewell and flapjack were delicious. Would love to go back to sample the food soon
