Maxim's is one of my favorite Chinese food restaurants in San Ignacio, in fact, in the entire country. The restaurant is clean, conveniently located in downtown San Ignacio. They have large portions and cold A/C both of which are important to me! If you want Chinese food, give them a try. I like the Kung Pao chicken or the special sizzling steak plates.

Visited today. Ordered and then noticed a handwritten sign noting credit cards not accepted, I was on business and rarely carry cash,, Had to drive to local bank and use atm inciting an 8 dollar fee to get cash. The food was good but the inconvenience of needing cash would put me off to eating here

This restaurant is located in a small building, but the service and food are unbelievable! I ordered a tofu dish and the waitress tells me they do not have tofu. The owner comes out from the kitchen, walks down the street to a local Chinese grocery and comes back with 2 boxes of tofu, apologizes profusely for the wait and prepares the most perfect dish of Mo Pa Tofu I have ever eaten. Very, very impressed also with the light and fragrant wonton soup. This restaurant uses local fresh veggies, so the dishes may not be 100% authentic Chinese, but they are 100% perfectly prepared. This is my favorite place to eat in downtown San Ignacio!
