I ate twice at La Lupita in Suchitoto, during a tour of Central America, and had really enjoyable meals both times. The first was a light lunch of sausages with tortillas and salsa, with mint lemonade to drink, which hit the spot perfectly. In the evening, I had intended to have dinner at the upmarket Los Almendros, but found the restaurant empty and with no kitchen activity evident, so went back to La Lupita instead, where the atmosphere - on the edge of the town square - was much livelier and full of local character. Had another thoroughly enjoyable meal, of churrasco (steak) with several bottles of Salvadorean 'Irish stout'. The service was really friendly, and not as slow as some other reviewers have found. Thoroughly recommended!

This local restaurant is an absolute gem. Charlie has no menu but everything that comes out of his kitchen is wonderful. From fresh healthy breakfasts to the delicious local favourite Pupusa for dinner you won't be disappointed. Local food at its best with cheerful welcoming service. A must visit in Sochitoto.
Originally decorated restaurant down some stairs from a quiet little park, open until 9pm in the evening. Meat dishes were really nice. The only problem - seasonal or just bad luck? - were the amount of insects bothering us while having dinner. Credit cards are accepted.
