Reviews on Cajun & Creole food in Georgetown, Demerara-Mahaica, Guyana. Although not a crowded Caribbean tourist spot, Georgetown is a unique city that serves as a perfect jumping point for ecotours into the South American interior. Its Victorian and Dutch Colonial architecture is detailed with louvered window shutters and brick and stone work. Built below the high tide level, the city is protected by a large seawall and drained by a grid of canals. Sundry goods can be found at the distinctive Stabroek Market, while the landmark Light House offers panoramic views.

I have been to the restaurant on several other occasions and I was never disappointed. The hospitable staff, the slamming cocktails and the mouth-watering dishes are all just the perfect combination to make your experience at XIE XIE a memorable one. Whatever you do you, just make sure to ALWAYS order the Asian BBQ.

I went to Maggie's several times for breakfast. I tried the pine tart which was quite good. The coffee was very good too. Both were affordable ($2 US for both). However, lunch options (limited, salads, sandwiches, etc) can be slightly more expensive. One of few places where you can find salads though. Nice, well lit and clean.

Unbelievably yes!Certainly a waste of cab fare, I ask the cab driver to come back in three hours, he said maybe I just wait....I laughed walked off and 30 minutes later got back in the cab.Yes there are a few, very few eating places, some shops full of cheap china products, a cambio exchange kiosk, but nothing of interest to a tourist.
