Reviews on Cafe food in Paihia, North Island, New Zealand. If you long to explore New Zealand’s beautiful Bay of Islands, Paihia makes a wonderful base. Known as “the Jewel of the Bay Islands,” this seaside town has golden beaches, lovely coastal walking trails and waterfalls, and a colorful population of local birds. Paihia also holds an important role in the country’s history. It was here, after a century of conflict between indigenous Maori tribes and Western settlers, that peace was finally made and the groundbreaking Treaty of Waitangi was signed.

Besides being next to our hotel, this is a good place for breakfast. There's a wide offering for such a small outlet. Hot breakfast like eggs benedict, e.t.c. hot pastries, cakes, and sandwiches at very reasonable prices (for New Zealand). Oh, and a selection of coffee and tea of course. We ate here twice during our stay in Paihia.

Came in for breakfast to enjoy the beautiful view. Ordered food and sat out on balcony in the sun. Absolutely gorgeous. Then my coffee came with the waitress holding cup with fingers on rim dipped into coffee - Note place and dont drink from there. Then food came - bacon missing off order & apparently I didn't order it. Bacon was provided at an extra charge of 5.00 - Didn't make a fuss just ate & left. Unable to use swipe card toilet as no swipe card available. Worked out cost when I looked at bank account and we had paid the 15.00 for Egg and bacon on toast - or should I now say 20.00. Again B team on staff over winter months. Usually service in Paihia over summer is excellent.Hi Joanne JThank you for your feedback about Moby's deck, however we would like to clarify a few points that you have unfairly portrayed. The second waitress who served you is the owner as the first waitress had to ask for help as she could no longer deal with serving you due to the way you where speaking to her.Michele (owner) made and took your coffee to you and can guarantee that there was no chance what so ever of there being any "fingers" in the coffee (cups are not hard to carry). The order you placed was for "eggs on toast" not "bacon and eggs" of which there is an obvious price difference, which once you had told us we corrected this for you and brought the bacon at the extra charge of $5. The order and receipt was showen too you on two separate occasions for this which you chose to ignore the waitress while they where speaking to you.As for the toilets, they are sheared for the entire building and have swip tag asscess. As there was already a customer using the toilets we did not have the swip tag at that moment and politly asked if you where able to wait. At this point yourself and the gentleman with you just walked out.My staff are here to serve customers and are not here to be treated rudly and disrespected by them. We highly recommend an improvement in your attitude towards the poeple whom are here to make your time with us enjoyable. Many kind regards, The Captain and Crew.
