A casual café in the heart of the Historic District of the Village of Owego. Enjoy breakfast & lunch daily! Many specials offered along with our daily hot soups, hot & cold sandwiches, salads, desserts & pastries. A large selection of beverage choices fro
Stopped here for lunch on way back to Philadelphia from long weekend in Ithaca. What a great find! The carrot-potato-dill soup was incredible. Everything was made from scratch - cornbread muffins (we bought 3 more to take home), portobello mushroom sandwich, roast beef sandwich to order, and fresh roast turkey on sourdough bread. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food out when it's ready. The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch (not dinner). If this cafe was closer to our house, we would be regulars!

I have reviewed the exceptional River Rose Cafe before, but having gone there for 30 yrs at this point, it warrants yet another review, following another wonderful lunch experience today, on their outside back terrace, overlooking the Susquehanna River. After a brief closure last year, I am still basking in the relief that the Cafe reopened! This lunch-only restaurant, (and the Hand of Man shop of which it is a part,) remains a hidden treasure in the Owego area, still unknown to many, tucked away in the shop. The food is excellent - soups, salads, wraps, all made on premises, and the desserts, which are to die for. Whether dining inside or out, this small cafe is very big on quality and beauty, with very reasonable prices. The staff almost become friends over time. It doesn't get much better.

I keep returning to this delightful cafe to check out ANOTHER tasty dish. The owner and his wife are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about food. Aaron, the owner, offers dishes that are seasonal and delicious. The Autumn Harvest Salad was a 5/5! Absolutely delicious! A "word of mouth" recommendation from a local friend (who is picky on her reviews of food), prompted me to go tasting with an open expectation of delicious food! Her review was SPOT ON! I have also passed on MY recommendation of this Owego treasure to everyone I know. The potato chips are another 5/5 treat. Can't wait to return as I know the food will be delicious and served with a smile. There is a home town feeling too, the fellow diners are cheerful and joyful to have eaten delicious food.
