The interior of Stadthaus is really nice and, despite it's village location, is always buzzing. Booking is recommended for popular nights like Friday. Their tomato soup is amazing and so are all the pizzas and other dishes. Definitely worth a visit. Staff are always friendly!

Chez Rüfi is the quintessential Swiss cafe. I have eaten there on every visit to Switzerland since 1972 (recently, that's about once every two years). It is the best place in town for a light lunch and delicious pastry. I have found both the food and service to be excellent, and the servers are indeed bilingual in German and French at least. The dining area is light and airy. It has expanded in recent years and now opens directly into the adjacent bookstore, which is great for a postprandial browse.

Nice coffee bar two steps from the train station. The owner Daniel and his team have put a big effort in serving high quality coffee and prepare it properly. They currently serve Diamante from Caffe Cocuma, an excellent coffee made in Biel/Bienne. The bar is small, but it ads to the charm. There are also fresh juices, teas, beeers, drinks, etc, plus panini and other snacks. Hasard is probably the only proper coffee bar - excluding chains like Starbucks and Spettacolo - in town (well Edu's in the old town has fantastic coffee (Cafefaro)but it's a combination of clothing/coffee shop). Another thing I like is that they can prepare your cappuccino/latte with soya bean/lactose free milk! Definitely worth stopping by, for it's coffee, juices and overall atmosphere.

I had a Sunday lunch here with my 16 month old and my husband. We had spent the morning walking amongst the vines and came back in town for lunch. Many places were fully booked so we came here. The female waiter was very helpful and gave us water and bread very quickly so the baby didnât have to wait. But the male waiting staff were awful. They ignored us many times when we tried to move out to the patio and when we tried to pay the bill. I am not sure why, but the outside waiter made eye contact with me on three occasions as I gestured for the bill and decided to ignore me and not even a quick âI ll be with you in a minuteâ. What kind of hospitality is this? If this place was not by the water front or it is located outside of Switzerland it will not have any business!! Dominoâs makes better pizza. Thatâs enough said about the food.
