This place has a retro feel to it. You have to look at a menu and order before you are seated. I assume thatâs so you wonât occupy a table for long. I ordered oatmeal brûlée and was almost giddy when I discovered it truly was a raw sugar burnt glaze on top! My husband said the milk gravy was some of the best heâs tasted as well. The tables were uncomfortably close together which is the reason for deducting one star.

Located in a charming, historic neighborhood, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. We were greeted immediately on walking in the door, told to sit anywhere we wanted and our server was at our table immediately. Being that it was Kentucky Derby day, we decided to have a mint julep, which was delicious. We both ordered salad and were extremely impressed with the flavor, generous portions and service.

Visited First Watch upon recommendation of friends and were not disappointed! My husband had the banana granola crunch pancakes - delicious, light and fluffy! I had a "Pick 2" lunch - 1/2 grilled ham/gruyere sandwich and honey pecan salad ... also delicious! I switched the brioche bun for parmesan sourdough - highly recommend!! We will definitely be back!

Once that I discovered this little restaurant, I frequent it often. Menu items are named after famous race horses. They have amazing chicken salad, a burger that I think beats any burger in town, and once you've eaten their tomato basil soup, you won't be able to eat it anywhere else. There are a lot of regulars and it has a down home family feeling about it. The service is quick & efficient. They have recently added a Ky Hot Brown that I think is better than the Brown Hotels. It should be noted that it also serves an outstanding breakfast. Their waffles are awesome. Everyone should give it a try.
