I'm glad that they've reopen after their family tragedy because by far they have the best Portuguese style BBQ chicken around, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and wish them much success in the reopening. The place could really use a little TLC and the food tends to be a little inconsistent, but the chicken is just 'finger lickin' good', always tender and juicy. There's a place 10 minutes from my house and I drive half hour each way to get their chicken. Whatever the secrete is, keep it up.

My wife and I made a mid-afternoon stop at the recently opened Jersey Shore BBQ in East Brunswick, NJ. We had frequented its predecessor, Dickey's, and wanted to see how this new place stacked up. Arriving about 2:30 meant no wait. The decor was basically the same, but the smell of the BBQ cooking was a real treat. The staff, including the manager, were extremely friendly and helpful. My wife ordered the nachos with chopped brisket off the appetizer menu, while I had sliced brisket with original BBQ sauce, fires, and collard greens (which I ordered for my wife, who enjoys them). The food was excellent. Portion sizes are large. If you order the nachos as an appetizer, make sure you have three or four people to eat them! The brisket was tender and juicy. I liked the original sauce, which is a little bit of a sweet sauce. You can help yourself to extra sauce in three varieties. I tried the other two sauces as well: Memphis BBQ, which has a spicy kick to it, and Carolina vinegar, which is, well, vinegary. While I liked them all, I preferred the original. The meals also come with cornbread and "JSBBQ pickles," which are slightly sweet. We had unsweetened iced tea with our meal. It was freshly brewed and not oversteeped or bitter at all.We ended up taking home about half the nachos since we were both full after eating. The atmosphere is rustic and basic. The food is excellent. The service was exceptional. I expect this to become a regular place for us to eat in the future.

The place was packed and huge. The service was excellent but the food was only mediocre. We have BBQ, the steaks were very chewy and seemed like all the marinate for the meat were the same. They constantly needed to exchange the grill plate because it was burned which a bit annoying, don't know why don't they invest for a better version or non-stick ones(we have been to other BBQ place and no one needed to change the grill every 5 mins.). The poor waiters/waitresses have far more work to do. Anyway, don't understand what the hype is all about?

Great Empanadas (incredible), themollejas, milanesa al caballo very good and deserts the bread pudding and crepes with dulce de leche very good.....DO not order anything that involves the grill sorry I love sweet morcilla the grill cook rushed the order and the inside of the morcillas was raw.... that what we thought. The cook said it was good.... sorry I may not be a grill cook but firmness is needed for a morcilla even if it's sweet..... not happy we ordered three orders and couldn't eat them. The waitresss took them back to cook them again and dropped the order on the floor.... came back with one order out of 3 and it was still raw....The fries and rice good and firm. I would suggest to order empanadas they were all great..... actually unbelievably great. But do not order grilled morcillas.... I'm have been eating Argentinian BBQ and cooking for over 40 years. I love Argentinian food and it's people but the guy that grills sorry should realize that the client will tell him how they enjoy their food. And raw is not the answer. I will be back for empanadas but not for grill.
