Excellent service and food. We had the mixed grill. We could see our meat being grilled on the fire and the side dishes were also very good. The staff even drove us to the nearest ATM for cash when we realised they only accepted cash. A must visit restaurant if you are in the São Vicente area.

This place totally surprised me. We stopped here Sunday for lunch. The food, service and prices were excellent, very impressed and those that know my blog will know I criticise a lot of places on the island. Defiantly in my top list of Restaurants to eat on Madeira. After spending a fantastic day in Porto Moniz at the natural lava pools, my husband and I were headed Back to Funchal. We really wanted to experience local un-tourist restaurant. Jackpot!!We made the trek up the mountain and well and behold, found this little gem nestled between mountains and the sea. Ordered the espetada on laurel leaf skewers, grilled to perfection. Next, salad and milho frito. All excellent! Finished off with a coffee and a nice portion of their maracuja panna cotta dessert. Amazing flavour. Service was impeccable and Bernadette who served us, spoke perfect English. Weekends are difficult to find a spot. Glad we made it here on a Friday night. Had the whole place to ourselves. Worth the trek up! A place you can’t miss, with one of the best views of the all island. And you can have a light meal or a snack and also some regional dishes. And is nothing expensive. From the restaurant you can start some walking tracks. Don’t miss it!
