Parrilla Los Ganaderos

This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend, so we went. We had the lamb-- one of the house specialties, which is three courses of different types of lamb meat. Incredibly good if you like lamb, but a LOT of food and only lamb. Be hungry if you go. Also, order sides, or it's just too much meat. (and i love lamb) desserts are just so-so average. Service was slow and not very friendly. Lots of tourists here. good strong pisco sours. VERY expensive-- the highest cost meal of our entire trip. many other options in town-- so weigh the pros/cons carefully.

Visited El Manso Toro for lunch and it was the best meal we had during our month in Argentina and Chile. The facility is lovely, service is excellent and the steaks were wonderful. We shared a mixed grill for four. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Chilenazo

I invited a friend from far away to get to know outside of Santiago and remembered this classical excursion destination in Pirque... unfortunately it was very expensive and just mediocre; i.e. I shall not return and cannot recommend the restaurant anymore.First they offered a starter, which surprised me that they would have ( locos ) to come back and excuse that it was not available, then they said to be specialized and famous for their "carnes a las brasas" ( grilled meat ), but in my humble opinion, they do not know how to cook meat. My entrañas, which I ordered "a la inglesa" ( saignant ) came raw on one end and overcooked at the other, so I had to cut off and send back part, plus overall rather tough. Third, we asked for and ordered a nice wine ( Carmenere Reserva ), recommended by the waiter, to find out that the restaurant actually multiplies 4 to 5 times on the wine... too expensive! Sorry again and definitely looking forward to finding other, better alternatives to eat lunch on the country side, in Pirque or around. In total, we spent almost US$100 for two, with two steaks and salads, two empanadas for starters and just coffee; no desert; 10% tips included. The surroundings and setting is nice, though.
