Ribs. Pork. Chicken. Brisket. Hell, even sausage. All BBQ has the same three basic ingredients: smoke, meat and time. What makes it different is the amount, consideration and attention to each part of that recipe. That, and some really great bbq sauce, to
The food here isn't very good. The Ribs were not very meaty and the bar tops are filthy dirty. The menus are also dirty. After I had eaten more than half of my lunch, the Bartender finally checked in with me. When I told him that I didn't really like the Ribs, he replied, "oh, OK". Then he pretty much ignored me for the rest of my visit... Not going back.

We were in Charleston for only a few hours. We did not want to go all the way down town for lunch and happened upon Willie Jewellâs. The beef brisket was surprisingly good. On several occasions we have ordered beef brisket in a place claiming to have the best brisket and we are usually disappointed. Willie Jewellâs need brisket was tasty, tender and well priced for the portion size. The next time Iâm in Charleston on that side of town, I will certainly visit Willie Jewellâs

As soon as we arrived we picked up a map and found this place on the town map, so we gave it a try and SO glad we did. The waitress was so accommodating and even recommended a lunch which I tried and absolutely loved. We ordered cold beer off the tap and it paired perfectly with our BBQ Pork sandwiches. This place is definitely a staple when we return to charleston again.

Great lunch spot on steak day. The only thing I didn't care for was the Gorgonzola Mac n cheese. It was grainy- I can only suspect it's made with a flour rue and didn't give enough time for the flute to cook. It was not creamy like I would expect. Service was good except we had to remind them they forgot the mushrooms & onions we ordered on the steak.Waiting at the bar to pay the bill is a little irritating because it's lunch & most people need to get out quickly. It would be nice to be able to have the waitress take payment while you finish up eating.
