Historical Tucson, Arizona Steakhouse. Available for large functions.
Dining out is not just about eating food. I have been patronizing L'il Abner's Steakhouse for about 40 years...long before it was engulfed by the megalopolis sprawl of Continental Ranch development. The old Butterfield Stage stop has been a Tucson icon for 70+years, where you could get a basic but really good steak etc. Since it WAS a Tucson institution, last night I took a life long friend who was visiting Tucson for the first time for the EXPERIENCE.RIP Abner's It now ranks as one of the WORSE dining experiences of my 7+ decades. Although not particularly busy, it took almost 10 minutes to be seated. Another 10 minutes to get water and menus??? (Note: there didn't used to be menus as there were only 4 items available.)It was all downhill from there. The food (if one could call it that) was horrible. You don't go there for a 4 star Michelin dining experience (although the prices are now approaching that level). Our party of three had the 1 lb. T bone which was barely 1/2" thick, flaccid and dry; a rack of beef ribs, greasy, fatty, almost no meat and burnt to ash on the ends; and the "piece de resistance" a bone-in ribeye which was so tough and grisly that cutting it almost broke the steak knife! Neither the product (would not qualify as "Utility" grade let alone "Choice") nor the preparation of the entrees was even remotely appealing. The sides: the beans tasted canned, the salad just iceberg lettuce, and the "texas toast" seemed to be garlic and margarine slathered wonder bread.None of the three of my group are "complainers" or self styled restaurant critics (this is my first review ever) but this was INEDIBLE. I wouldn't even feed this food to dogs. All of our party have some gastric distress this morning. Health inspection????Attempting to report this first with our server and ultimately with the manager was the next stage of this ordeal. After much back and forth, in a begrudging effort to mollify us first deducted only a portion of the "bone-in ribeye" off the bill and ran my credit card. When I asserted that this was NOT satisfactory to the manager, they ask me for my credit card again so that they could further adjust the bill, the manager saying that she was only charging us for the drinks (1 beer 1 wine) and server gratuity, but in actuality only adjusted the bill a few dollars all in the dark of the corner of the bar. THEN they posted BOTH charges through to my credit card!!!! (the charges are in excess of $150 for three). The only thing they could have done to make the entire experience worse would be to have physically assault us.In summary STAY AWAY!!!! there is a landfill only a few miles away where you could scrounge a better meal. What a tragedy that such a Tucson Icon has deteriorate to this degree.

Tex-Mex cuisine at its finest, also Home of the "5 Star" Margarita and our famous Chili. All our ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality. Chuy's menu is simple, serving the tastiest fish, chicken, burgers, shrimp and tri-tip beef of any restauran
Lunch with the family and we were all pleased with the food and service.I ordered the Mesquite Shrimp Tacos on corn tortillas with beans and rice on the side. $9.79 for several plump Mesquite grilled shrimp.Added a little lime juice and some of Chuy's signature Baja sauce for extra flavoring but the tacos didn't need it.Free chips and salsa. The Pico de Gallo was good but the orange colored salsa lacked flavor.Friendly service. Seat yourself.Order at the bar.Food is brought to your table.Free refills.Try the strawberry lemonade, it's delicious. This place would be 5 stars but they need better salsa.

A great destination drive thru the Saguaro National Park. Horseshoe Barbecue has a full bar and outdoor natural mesquite burning grill, featuring premium hand cut steaks, smoked pulled pork, pork ribs, and beef brisket, hand made hamburgers, cheese steaks
Staying in the Picture Rocks area and have driven past a few times. stopped in to day and had the all you can eat fish and fries. DELICIOUS. service was on point for this cute hometown type cafe. Nothing fancy, but who needs fancy when you just want some good homecooked food. So glad we stopped. Will definately come there again.

Unfortunately, one visit was more than enough for us.When asking the server to explain exactly Hawaiian BBQhe told us it's regular BBQ with some pineapple added. They need to have another training session with their servers if they want to stay in business, but for us it was almost one and done.
